“A sacred pilgrimage with breathtaking views”
Adam’s Peak, or Sri Pada, is one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic mountains, revered by multiple faiths. At its summit lies the famous sacred footprint, believed to be that of Buddha, Shiva, or Adam, depending on the tradition.
Each year, thousands of pilgrims climb the mountain—especially during pilgrimage season (December to May)—to reach the summit before sunrise. The view from the top reveals amagical “shadow of the peak” stretching into the dawn sky, a sight etched in every traveler’s memory.
